TARA MYERS
Owner & Chief Planner
After graduating with an Industrial Engineering degree from Texas A&M in 2015, Tara went to work for the aerospace industry, promising a fruitful career for herself after what was likely to be 15+ years of grueling work- being under-appreciated and fractionally impactful.
Thirsting for more creativity, autonomy, and meaning in life, she decided to take her skills of project management and process improvement to a world that she truly cherished- a world that made her own wedding day, the most magical she could dream of.
She started Artisan Rose Event Co. in 2017, left her engineering career to pursue her business full-time in 2018, and has been thriving ever since! Now she manages a team of (4) women, including herself, that push her to be a better leader, mentor, and friend everyday and she could not be happier with the lives she gets to touch through her work as a wedding planner!
She’s an Enneagram 3: The Achiever
• I have not and will not ever stop pushing myself to be better: whether we are talking about my personal choices, my business management, or my relationships with my friends and family, I am a completely intentional person when it comes to everything I do in this life. Client-facing work is something I truly believe I was born for. It breathes life into me!
Tara's Special Interests:
• Fitness: I find that maintaining an active lifestyle is the one thing that genuinely helps me stay sane and ensures that I take time to care for myself. I wake-up, I work out, and then I work on weddings. It also totally helps me for those 10-12 hour wedding days with intense setups and tear-downs!
• I am also an avid reader. My go-to sections of the Half-Price Books are the ones on religion, anthropology, sociology, and psychology. Humans, their histories, and their cultures are truly the most fascinating subjects to me. I find when I read these subjects, I learn how to connect with both myself and people better.
EMILIE SCHOLMA
Wedding Day Manager
After earning a degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Dallas, Emilie began her career in project management, sharpening her eye for detail, organization, and efficient processes. Though the corporate environment offered stability, it didn't offer the creativity and human connection she knew she wanted to build a career around.
Drawn to meaningful celebrations and the joy of bringing people together, she shifted into wedding planning, where her strengths truly shine. She's a people person at heart, motivated, confident, and kind. She leads with both warmth and assertiveness, both absolutely necessary for this industry. Working closely with couples, hearing their stories, and watching their day unfold still brings tears to her eyes; celebrating love never gets old.
She especially gravitates towards weddings with vintage and classic inspiration, layered with unique, personal details. She loves working with couples who think creatively and want a wedding that reflects who they genuinely are, not just what trends say it should be.
She’s an Enneagram 8: The Challenger
As an Enneagram 8, she values authenticity, direct communication, and deep connection. She believes in showing up fully for her clients and advocates for their vision every step of the way.
Emilie's Special Interests:
Outside of weddings, she is currently training for an Ironman, that discipline and endurance translating seamlessly into wedding days with complex timelines and high-energy logistics. She also loves hosting and bringing people together, whether it's an intimate dinner or a big celebration, which is at the core of why wedding planning feels like such a natural fit.
Most of all, she is grateful to do work that blends organization with creativity and people with purpose, helping others celebrate one of the most meaningful days of their lives.
Kind Words
“To say Tara single-handedly saved our wedding day would be an understatement. Despite unforeseen challenges, we decided the night before the wedding that we were going to enjoy ourselves and our day no matter what, leaving it completely in Tara's hands. Tara completely transformed the venue into something more magical than we could've ever expected. Tara is diligent, persistent, and she doesn't stop until her couples are 100% satisfied. To be honest, after our wedding, we were bummed to no longer be working with her.”
